Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

This policy explains how the operator of Bible Knight (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Bible Knight mobile app and this website. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

Bible Knight is a devotional app. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or pastoral care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

Information we handle

Depending on how you use the app, that can include:

  • Preferences you set. Appearance, language, Bible version, reminder times, and denomination, so the app can match how you want to read.
  • Your reading and practice. Highlights, bookmarks, daily charges, and progress through formation material.
  • Counsel. Messages you write and the replies you receive. Replies may be produced with software, including artificial intelligence. If you include personal details in a message, those details are part of that conversation.
  • Device permissions you grant. If you save a verse image, the app uses photo-library access only to store that image. If you turn on a reading reminder, the app uses notifications to deliver it on your device.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your address and the contents of that email so we can reply.

Denomination and the contents of counsel can reveal religious belief. We use that information to run the features you asked for. We do not sell it.

This website is a static set of pages. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Where it is stored

Reading progress, settings, and counsel are stored on your device. If a feature needs a service outside your phone — for example, to generate a reply — we send only what that feature needs in order to provide it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context advertising.

Why we use it

  • to provide the app features you choose
  • to remember settings and reading progress on your device
  • to send a reminder you turned on
  • to answer you if you contact us
  • to keep the Services secure and to fix faults
  • to meet a legal duty, if one applies

Who else may receive it

We share personal information only in limited cases:

  • Service providers that host or process data strictly so we can operate a feature, under instructions from us.
  • App stores (Apple or Google) when you make a purchase. They process payment under their own privacy terms. We do not receive your full card number.
  • Authorities when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect someone’s safety.
  • A successor if the app is transferred as part of a sale or similar change. They would have to handle personal information under this policy or a successor policy we notify you about.

How long we keep it

Information stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. If we hold information on a server, we keep it only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and then we delete or de-identify it, unless the law requires a longer period.

Children

The Services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a small app. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Keep your device locked, and do not put secrets into a counsel message that you would not want stored with that conversation.

Your rights

If you are in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, to ask for access, and to ask for a correction. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you are not satisfied with how we respond.

If another privacy law applies where you live — including the GDPR or a United States state privacy law — you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold, or to object to or limit certain uses. Email support@example.com and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires. We may need to confirm it is you before we act.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and provide a way to opt out.

International transfers

We are based in New Zealand. If a provider that helps us run the app is located in another country, information needed for that feature may be processed there. Where the law requires a safeguard for that transfer, we use one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as a notice in the app or on this website.
